This is a rare autographed press photograph of ETHEL MERMAN and RAY MIDDLETON in the
Original Broadway production of the IRVING BERLIN,
HERBERT FIELDS and DOROTHY FIELDS musical hit “ANNIE GET YOUR GUN” which
played the Imperial Theatre in New York City. (The production opened
May 17th, 1946 and ran for 1147 performances.) ….. The legendary ETHEL
MERMAN created several of the most endearing characters in musical
theatre history; “Reno Sweeney” in Cole Porter’s “Anything Goes”, “Mama
Rose” in Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim’s “Gypsy” and “Annie Oakley” in
Irving Berlin’s greatest success “ANNIE GET YOUR GUN” ….. In addition
to ETHEL MERMAN (who signed the backside of the photo), the musical featured RAY
MIDDLETON, WARREN BERLINGER, MARY ELLEN GLASS, MARTY MAY, LEA PENMAN,
DANIEL NAGRIN, FRED RIVETT, CLIFF DUNSTAN, WILLIAM O’NEAL, LUBOV

….. DETAILS: This rare photo was trimmed on three sides and only has a margin at the bottom. It measures 5 3/4″ X 8 5/8″ inches and includes a caption strip on the back. The photo was signed by ETHEL MERMAN (second scanned image) and will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity ….. CONDITION: With the exception of the trimmed edges, creasing along the bottom edge and light edge wear, this rare photo is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
